Finca Tres Semillas is a small, family owned working organic farm and mountain inn located in the Rio Division Valley of Costa Rica on the southern border of the Los Santos National Park, which consists of 150,000 acres of protected primary and secondary tropical rainforest.
Finca 3 Semillas is the home of Tamara Newton the mother, Gerardo Saenz the father, their daughter Maryabla 6 and their two sons Judah 10 and Salvador 3.
If you are looking for a "geniune and unique Costa Rican cultural experience" and a great adventure away from the crowded and touristy popular places in Costa Rica, this is the place to visit! Finca Tres Semillas can accomodate groups up to 16 people and individual guests.
The lifestyle experienced at Finca Tres Semillas reconnects visitors with their natural rhythms. The family goes to sleep and wakes up with the sun. The family lives almost completely off of the land. They grow their own organic produce, wild-harvest fruit from the rainforest and river, and make many of their own dairy products.
Come and learn how a home is set up to live in harmony with Nature, the environment and others around you.
Finca Tres Semillas has four themed bedrooms with 11 beds, including bunkbeds, 2 hot water showers and 2 bathrooms. There is a large outdoor dinning room area with a spectacular view of the Buenaventura Mountain.
The farm is located 1.5 hours away from San Isidro de El General in the valley of Rio Nuevo, along River Division in the Perez Zeledon district of Costa Rica.
There are a number of activities and attractions at Finca Tres Semillas including horseback riding, hiking, swimming in the river, rock climbing (and soon repelling), visiting nearby waterfalls, taking a tour up to Las Pilas (natural rock water-slides and swimming pools) and more!
You can also learn how to milk a cow and make fresh organic cheese and cream, harvest sugar cane and make sugar cane juice, learn about organic gardening and how to make organic compost.
Finally, you can see and learn about the diversity of the low-land tropical rainforest flora y fauna, from 600 year old ceiba trees, to jungle plants and tropical wild flowers, and the wildlife that lives in the area, including monkeys (howlers and white-face capucins), tropical birds (toucans, parrots, tanangers), tapirs, anteaters, wild boars, spotted deer and jaguars!
